0.047 micro F Sprague “Orange Drop” Tone Capacitor (FENDER STYLE)

Description

Suitable for Fender (Singlecoil equipped) guitars and similar (0.047µF).

The capacitor in the tone circuit diverts away high frequency signals into a “Bermuda Triangle” of sound.  As you send more of the signal to the capacitor with the potentiometer in the circuit (Tone Knob) you progressively lose more top end.

This is the way the standard tone circuit of passive guitars works.

These capacitors are my favourite – cheap and simple – upgrade to my favourite guitars.  They seem (to me) to provide a much more effective, smoother and pleasing tone adjustment to the cheap ceramic tone capacitors fitted as standard.
