Removal of the cheap, badly fitting soft plastic cover to the controls revealed 4 generic non labelled pots, and cheap plastic covered wiring. Gibson Pots (Left) are mounted on a control plate and all have gibson markings. The wiring is usually wire braid covered.
As has been pointed out to me recently – Gibson hasn’t always used a mounting plate, and often it’s removed if people modify the electronics, but CTS potentiometers and wire braid sleeved pickup wires DO seem to be consistent. (Thanks Dave Whiteley)
