Jerry Donahue Telecaster (Jerry Donahue built “Partsocaster”)

Jerry Donahue “Partsocaster.”  G&L Legacy birdseye maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Seymour Duncan Pickups (Stacked HB in bridge, Coil Tap on push/pull volume knob) Wilkinson bridge with compensated brass saddles.  3 piece Mahogany (?) body with maple cap and edge binding to the front.  Wilkinson (?) locking tuners.

Apparently Jerry built this when he was contemplating a G&L manufactured signature model.

Just been playing this and I’m really impressed.  The guitar is acoustically very resonant (surprising for a mahogany body)  I always find that bodes well for it’s plugged in performance 🙂  The coil tap is not that remarkable – stacked humbuckers never really alter their tonality much with tapping – but what it does give is the ability to use more gain on the bridge without the usual 50Hz hum that you get with a tele.  The neck is beautiful both to look at and to play.  Otherwise it’s telecaster all the way – spank and sparkle – nice.
