I say:

Those of you that know me know my opinion on Strats will be surprised to hear that I actually quite like this one.  The volume knob is still in the wrong place, and the pickups still hum under the wrong lighting, but providing I play it in daylight and plugged in to a screened and shielded amp – without any gain – and only very quietly it doesn’t seem to hum too badly, in fact with that setting it doesn’t really do much…..

Seriously though – if I put my pet hatred of all things Strat to one side, this is a pretty special guitar, made by the Fender Custom Shop Luthiers.

The neck is beautifully finished, nice dark rosewood board, and rolled edges make it feel like it’s been played for years. the lacquer on the neck and body is near flawless – with only the lightest of swirl marks from cleaning.

The pickups are Abigail Ybarra Fender pickups, hand wound by the near legendary lady herself – signed and dated.

The electronics are crackle free and all original.

The guitar comes with original and near unmarked Fender case, paperwork, certificate, lead, strap, bridge cover, keys etc.  Original RRP £3200

This really is a collector’s piece.  Almost perfect condition, and a superb guitar. The sound is simply stunning.
