2008 Martin OM-1 Acoustic Guitar with Fishman Rare Earth Pickup

The Blue Book Says:

Martin OM-1 SECOND VERSION

– orchestra-style body, solid Sitka spruce top, solid sapele back and sides, modified hybrid “X” scalloped bracing, round soundhole with three ring Style 28 rosette (5/9/5 grouping), black boltaron binding, rust Stratabond neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with Style 28 dot inlays, rosewood pattern HPL headstock overlay, three-per-side chrome tuners with small buttons, rosewood bridge, white bridge pins with black dots, black pickguard, available in Natural Satin finish, 25.4 in. scale, case included, mfg. 2009-2010.

I say:

A nice – pretty clean – i.e. only the lightest of pick marks in the Spruce top example of this Martin Acoustic.  The Stratabond neck is interesting and apparently incredibly stable.

The sound is nice and warm, balanced and articulate.  The Fishman pickup is great – again warm and articulate.

The body does show some polishing to those areas where it comes into contact with the body.

Currently strung with Elixir 12’s, original bridge is included but has been replaced with an upgraded Mammoth Bone bridge, the string pins have likewise been upgraded to inlaid ebony pins, originals are likewise included.

Original Martin Hard Case is in great condition.
