2008 Gibson USA Les Paul Custom Shop “Class 5-Q” in Trans Black.

The Blue Book Says:

I say:

Just beautiful.  This is super class, but in an understated kind of way.  At first look the guitar appears to be “just” a black Les Paul Custom.  Then when you get up close it’s got the most fabulously quilted top.

Headstock is undamaged, rosewood fretboard has beautiful grain and no wear.  Frets are unworn. There is one small nick on the back of the neck – probably from a stand – but it’s so small that I couldn’t catch it on the photos.  The front of the body is unmarked and beautiful.  The Original Burstbucker 1&2 pickups are great – very articulate and with plenty of grit for all styles.  Electronics are crackle free and fully functional.

The rear of the guitar has had some problems in that the lacquer has at some time reacted with the padding on aprevious owner’s stand.  This resulted in some significant “melting” of the lacquer.  This has been successfully ground away and polished out, but this has left the rear of the guitar with a lot of polishing swirls.  You can still make out the damaged part,  but if I hadn’t mentioned it, you’d probably never have noticed!

Comes with original Gibson Custom Shop Hardcase, certificate, owners manual and unfitted pick guard.
