– similar to the McCarty Hollowbody, except features carved figured maple top and carved mahogany back and sides, includes case, mfg. 1998-2009.

I Say:

Virtually unmarked – apart from one small ding on the edge of the upper bass bout.  This is a super lightweight Hollowbodied PRS.  The Vintage Natural finish gives a super cool look, without the gaudiness of some of PRS’s offerings.

The LR Baggs piezo pickup gives a good piezo sound especially if routed to an acoustic amp or PA, however there is the option of a mixed output on a standard Jack lead.

The lower two potentiometers deal with overall volume and tone.  The upper potentiometer blends in the piezo.

The 3 position mini switch selects piezo, piezo and magnetic, just magnetic. Whilst the traditional 3 way toggle selects the magnetic pickups in the normal way.

The body is thicker than the electric PRS range and it has an arched back, but it’s no Jumbo!

Acoustically it’s not much more volume than a 335, but enough to “noodle on the sofa.”  Plugged in it has a huge range of sounds and is one of the most flexible guitars I’ve tried.
