2007 Gibson Les Paul Standard. Light burst finish and Fishman Powerbridge pickup too!

The Blue Book Says:

Les Paul Standard w/50s or 60s Neck (LPS5/LPS6)
– similar to Les Paul Standard, except has a 50s/60s neck with nickel hardware, available in Black Cherry (disc.), Desert Burst, Ebony, Gold Top, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Honey Burst, Iced Tea, Light Burst, Manhattan Midnight Blue (disc., limited edition run of 275 instruments), Pacific (disc.), Root Beer (disc. 2007), Santa Fe Sunrise (disc.), Trans. Amber (disc.), Vintage Sunburst (disc.), or Wine Red (disc.) finish, mfg. 2002-08.

I say:

Good condition – and light chambered body (7.65lbs).  The pickups are viewed by many as an upgrade to the standard (and long gone) Gibson pickups.  Add to this the ability to get acoustic style tones from the same guitar, and I may be on my way to finding my “do anything” guitar!

The headstock is clean, as is the back of the slim 60’s profile neck, the frets show minimal signs of wear and the rosewood fingerboard is just beautiful.

The front of the body does have a few dents from use but nothing unsightly.  The rear of the body has some “bucklerash” which I have managed to catch this  in the photos.

The added miniswitches a) turn the guitar on/off – to my cost I discovered that leaving it on will drain the 9v battery quite quickly! and b) select magnetic, magnetic/piezo, piezo pickups.  The added volume knob control the mix of piezo and magnetic pickups.

The case is in great condition and has the little red thingy still in the combination lock.

Whilst setting this up I noticed that the SD pickups have 4 wires – which means that I could install coil taps…..  mmmm…  I sense this year’s “Summer Project.”  If I manage this I’ll have standard Gibson HB tones, Single coil “Fenderish” tones,  & acoustic tones all from one guitar!!! – Bring on the summer holidays!
