2006 PRS Johnny Hiland Signature Model.

The Blue Book Says:
– offset double cutaway carved body with mahogany back and maple top, bolt-on maple neck with special JH neck carve, 24-fret maple fingerboard with special large black dot and a 513 bird inlay at 12th fret, 25 in. scale, maple headstock with Johnny Hiland signed trussrod cover, PRS tremelo system, Johnny Hiland treble and bass pickups with covers, three-way blade switch, push-pull splits bass pickup, available in various finishes, includes hardshell case, mfg. 2006-09.

I Say:

Possibly my favourite PRS Model.  The Neck pickup is typically coil tapped, and engages the hum bucker when the tone pot is raised via a pull/push switch.  The unmarked maple neck has great large frets and, due to Johnny Hiland’s sight impairments, has enlarged black dot markers.  The maple fingerboard gives that “spanky” twang that we usually associate with Fender style guitars.

The Electronics are all fully functional and crackle free.  The body has a couple of minor chips in the front finish, and some minor scratches to the rear.  The Bridge shows signs of use – where the chrome finish has worn away revealing the brass of the saddle pieces – I actually think it looks really cool 🙂

The original PRS case bears similar marks of use, but is basically sound and functional.  The neck pocket has original PRS papers, Allen Keys and Trem Bar.
