I say:

This is one good -looking guitar.  The Bookmatched Maple front and back are vivid and almost 3-dimensional.  It’s easy to forget that this is a 10 year old guitar!

There are some minor signs that this guitar has been used rather than abused – the gold plating on the pickups and bridge show typical wear patterns for a guitar that has been used rather than hung on a wall – see the photos.  The previous owner also appears to have acidic oil in the skin as the bridge shows some pitting to the gold, this also applies to the machine heads, but there’s nothing so serious to require replacement.

The lacquer work shows some minor patination of the front where the right arm rests, but otherwise the front is pretty much mark-free, in fact I’ve only found one small dent.  The rear of the guitar shows some minor buckle rash and one significant mark (buckle rash again) extending from the lower waist towards the centre of the guitar – this can be seen in the photos.

The ebony fretboard and gold – yes gold! – coloured frets are in great condition.

All original electronics (Gibson standard 490R (neck) and 498T (bridge) pickup combination) are fully functional and crackle free.

Gibson Custom Hardcase is in equally good condition as shown.
