2004 Gibson Les Paul Supreme – Root Beer Finish

The Blue Book Says:

– features AAAA flame maple top/back, multi-bound top, gold hardware, Supreme inlayed in headstock, available in pearl split block inlays on ebony fingerboard, standard finishes include Alpine White (2004-07), Desert Burst (2004-present), Ebony (disc. 2007), Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Root Beer (disc.), Trans. Amber (disc.), or Wine Red (disc.), mfg. 2003-present.

I say:

I’ve now had 4 Gibson Les Paul Supremes, and this is possibly one of the most intense flames I’ve seen on a guitar – and it’s on the front and back!

This guitar’s weight relieved body has a AAAA grade figured top and back, pearl on ebony fingerboard inlays, seven ply binding, mother of pearl globe inlay with “Supreme” banner on the headstock.

The only signs of use that I can see is some wear on the gold of the truss rod cover, one small dent on the upper bass bout of the front of the guitar (but you’ll have to really look for it), & some very minor scuffs on the reverse of the body.

The 490R/498T pickup combination is a classic, and all the electronics are original and crackle free – thank goodness – I wouldn’t fancy trying to get them out and back in – this has to have been done by magic elves at the Gibson factory! 🙂

Comes with original Gibson TKL case with shroud – all in excellent condition.  There’s a pick guard in the neck pocket – but why would you ever fit it to this?
