2002 Taylor USA 912ce Acoustic Guitar

The “Blue Book” says:

912 CE – similar to 912, except has single Florentine or Venetian cutaway body, and electronics, mfg. 1993-present.  In 1994, abalone purfling, abalone flower fingerboard inlay replaced original items, abalone stylized T peghead inlay was discontinued.”

I say…..

This guitar has an Indian rosewood back and sides, producing a consistent and well rounded sound and finished in a high gloss. A solid sitka spruce top for a broad range and articulate sound, high gloss finish. An ebony fingerboard with Abalone inlays, and a tropical Mahogany neck with a satin finish. It has outstanding inlay work on the neck and bridge, a gorgeous 8 layer binding with abalone insert on the top, and similar around the sound hole. An understated single layer white binding to the rear. The guitar is fitted with the excellent Taylor expression system pickup which has a soundboard pickup and a string sensor beneath the fingerboard, the guitar has a discrete preamp and simple vol. treble and bass controls, providing a simple but very effective way of amplifying the natural sound of this amazing instrument.

Beautiful Acoustic.  The 9 series represents a significant “step up” in quality, described by Taylor as their “upper echelon” of guitars.  Full bodied sound and the superb “expression system” preamp.  Comes with a specialised lead to feed direct into a PA (but you can use “normal” 1/4″ jacks too!). Case still has all the paperwork and owners CD, and truss rod adjuster.  Currently strung with new Elixir 12’s.  This guitar was bought new by the previous owner as an investment piece and has spent it’s life in it’s case.  Lacquer is unmarked – the guitar is quite literally “new.”
