2001 PRS Custom 24 Vintage Sunburst.

The Blue Book Says:

– offset double cutaway mahogany body, carved figured maple top, mahogany neck, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone/pearl moon inlay, 25 in. scale, PRS tremolo system or PRS stoptail (mfg. circa 1993-2001), three-per-side low mass cam style locking tuners, chrome hardware, Phase II tuners became standard 2002, two standard T & B humbucker PRS pickups (one HFS and one Vintage Bass beginning 1991), volume/tone control, 5-position rotary switch, optional 3-way toggle selector switch and push/pull tone control (coil tap capabilities), 10-top became an option in 1987 (flame or quilt), available in many colors. Vintage Yellow is the most desirable in early mfg., low serial numbers are also very desirable, includes Tolex case, mfg. 1985-present.

I Say:

A great – pretty clean example of this guitar.

Often PRS guitars can appear “Too Flashy” to me – this is one of their more understated versions! – All the classic tone woods, electronics and construction perfection that we associate with PRS, but without what can often be the rather OTT “Bling.”

There’s a push-pull tone pot for coil tapped actions and the traditional 3 position pickup selector.

Use  – well the neck and frets and rosewood fingerboard are in near perfect condition.  The maple cap on the top exhibits light flaming – but as far as I can see there’s no scratches dings or dents.  The rear of the guitar has one micro chip that has removed lacquer to the wood – and there’s a few very minor belt scratches that I couldn’t seem to catch on the camera.

The case is in excellent condition and has all the PRS paperwork and even a sticker.  The Vibrato arm is in the case, as are keys and truss rod adjuster.
