The Blue Book Says:

Vintage Yellow is the most desirable in early mfg., low serial numbers are also very desirable, includes Tolex case, mfg. 1985-present.

I Say:

A well loved and well used example of one of PRS’s timeless classics!

The Whale Blue finish is definitely one of my favourites, whilst looking striking and lush – it avoids what can often be the “over gilding” that PRS guitars can be accused of presenting.

This guitar has clearly been used, it has a healthy selection of maybe half a dozen dents and pressure marks on the top, I’ve done my best to show these, and likewise the chips along the bottom edge of the guitar and on the headstock.  The rosewood fretboard shows some minor wear in the “cowboy positions”  – again I’ve tried to capture this.

The rear of the neck is unmarked and the wide thin profile is easy to play.  The back of the body shows some buckle rash – again – I’ve managed to capture this in all its gory glory by using a flash to show up the marks.

Classic HFS and Vintage Bass pickups ensure all the classic PRS tones and the 5 way rotary selector provides a very useable palette of sounds, from single coil to standard Humbucker tones.

All electrics are fully functional and crackle free.

The case shows wear commensurate with the age and use of the guitar, but both latches work (although one has lost its spring!).  The neck pocket has all the paperwork and Vibrato Arm and Truss Rod Key.
