The Blue Book Says:
Guild D-46
– dreadnought body, solid spruce top, ash back and sides, round soundhole, multi-ply top binding, ash neck, 14/20-fret ebony fingerboard with dot inlays, Chesterfield headstock inlay, three-per-side chrome tuners, ebony bridge, black pickguard, available in Natural or Sunburst finish, mfg. 1980-85.
I say:
Oh my goodness….
I cleaned this and restrung it with a set of Elixir 12’s – and boy – this baby bites back! – Quite the most aggressive acoustic I’ve had in a while. No “soft delicate” here just an incredible bright hard edged percussive sound with incredible sustain especially on the low notes.
I can’t credit that this guitar is from 1980 – so, 36 years old (at the time of writing). The bodywork has almost no marks at all – just a little lacquer sinking , and a couple of minor abrasions on the upper side bout. This is a total closet queen. Beautiful, bright, punchy and incredibly attractive to boot!
The original Guild case is in equally good condition – only a couple of very minor scrapes.
