The Gibson Les Paul Classic – New and Improved in 2015

I Say:

On paper this ticked all my boxes, not only coil tapped, but it has a 15db boost switch for those moments when “11” simply isn’t enough! Gibson’s ’57 Humbuckers are some of my favourite variants, and I thought that the wider fingerboard would help me as I’m currently liking fatter necks.

However I just can’t get on with the G force Tuners, they work – brilliantly – but I just don’t need the plethora of options.  Once you’ve got your head around it, re-stringing is a breeze, but I did have to watch a You tube clip a couple of times to get to grips with it.

The neck and body are unmarked as far as I can see, fingerboard and frets are likewise immaculate.  The new style Gibson Case is very cool, and has the charger for the G force unit, instructions and guarantees.  The previous owner had the brass nut swapped out for a Titanium one – but the brass nut is still in the case.

The new pick guard is quite cool as it simply slides out of the pickup covers if you wanted to remove it – no screws!
